Stereotypical Feminists

The issue of our Nigerian girls or rather ladies claiming to be modern day feminists  is just so disturbing, disheartening and utmostly irritating. Basically and personally I think they are being influenced by the westernized world and celebrities and they don't understand what in particular is worth fighting for. Many of these women activist fight for gender equality because they feel  women are been suppressed more in the society which to some extent is true, but our know-know naija babes will go ahead and make it about them selves saying all sought of rubbish, most of this girls only do stuffs like these on social media platforms to gain fame, popularity or to be labelled as a feminist.

  • feminism is the advocacy of women's rights on the grounds of political, social, and economic equality to men
It evidently doesn't say anything about shaming the male gender and putting them under your feet, it doesn't even say anything about taking things too personal, I think feminism should come to play only on political, social and economic rounds, now don't get me wrong here, it could co-exist anywhere but when you just make it all about yourself, its not right, some ladies actually go the extra mile and in the process insult, shame, disgrace and downgrade the male gender. Yo, I am not taking precedence over any gender [because I am a guy], but I am utterly particular about the stereotypical feminists in our midst. It annoys me a lot when I encounter a so-called  feminist on social media(they all seem to exist there).

So this is what I think  FEMINISM is all about,
  • Feminism is about equality and better lives for women, not about female dominance. Many feminists are married and in long-term relationships with men, and many men call themselves feminists too.
  • It's natural to feel angry when you're being discriminated against or repressed in some way, no matter what group you belong to, but address issues like these sensibly and in a more understanding manner.
  • Feminists are Whiny in some kind of way. Ever notice that whenever a woman complains about anything, she's called a nag, or whiny? Women are "supposed" to be agreeable and eager to compromise, so it's no surprise that women who express discontent with societal norms are labelled as whiny. But look at it this way: thanks to "whiny" women around the world, women in most places can now vote, own property, work in any profession they wish, and prosecute men who sexually harass or discriminate against her.

A more systematic investigation into what people think about feminists found that many people think that feminists are ugly, uptight, angry, aggressive, harsh, strident, demanding, dogmatic, man-hating lesbians… or think other people think they are. Only 26 percent of people say that feminist is a positive term.

This suggests that actual feminists have lost control over their own reputation. It would be counterproductive, after all, for feminists to portray themselves as unlikable. Negative stereotypes about feminists, instead, are likely spread by anti-feminists.

So its not fair to label everyone as Stereotypical feminists just because some ladies decides to do otherwise, and ladies its also not wise to do these things, because you make it hard for the ACTUAL Feminists who are fighting their ass off to make the world a better place.
